    Stryker Rejuvenate/ABG II, DePuy ASR/ASR XL/Pinnacle, Zimmer Durom, Smith & Nephew R3/BHR, Wright Medical Conserve+/Profemur Z Stem, Biomet M2a/Stanmore/Exceed ABT:

    Although advertised to give the patient a more natural gait and greater flexibility, these “metal on metal” hip devices are failing at a higher than normal rate. Adverse side effects include metallosis, cobalt/chromium toxicity, premature failure of the device, necrosis of surrounding tissues and bone, pseudotumors, and loss of limb.

  • Medications:

    Actos, GranuFlo, Yaz/Yasmin, Pradaxa, Accutane, Avandia, Fosamax, Tylenol, Topamax, Lipitor/Crestor, Paxil, Effexor, Depakote :

    These medications have varying side effects, including tumors/cancer, blood clot/stroke, cardiac issues, birth defects, gall bladder damage, liver damage, bone necrosis, internal bleeding, and even death.   • Pelvic/Transvaginal Mesh:

    Used to repair pelvic organ prolapse (POP) or to support the urethra to treat urinary incontinence, these devices can lead to complications including pain, bleeding, infection, erosion, and scarring.

  • Mirena/Nuvaring/Ortho Evra:

    Birth control devices/patch with associated adverse side effects including stroke, heart attack, scarring, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and death.

  • BP Oil Spill Economic Losses:

    BP has established a $20 billion compensation fund designed to reimburse those individuals and businesses in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas who have suffered economic harm as a result of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
